Whereas on 26 December, 37 Henry III, the king granted by letters
patent to William de Gloucestre, king's Serjeant and goldsmith, that
he should be quit for life of all taUages, aids and contributions
whatsoever within the city Of London and without, and the said letters
have been taken away and broken by occasion of the disturbance had
in the realm; the king "grants that he shall be-quit for life in the
form of the said grant.
