Whereas John de Gissors handed a horse of his to One Alice de Mares
to keep and she sold it without his licence ; and for this she was taken
and imprisoned in Neugate prison, and afterwards brought before
Laurence del Brok, the king's justice appointed to deliver the gaol of
Neugate, and abjured the realm, without having been eonvictedof
any theft or crime or even any trespass against the peace, for which
such abjuration could or ought to follow; the king, wishing to be
certified of the premises, and to correct the error if any in the process
of this matter, three weeks after Midsummer, grants to the said Alice
his peace and orders that she be not molested by occasion of this
in the meantime. |
