[Middx.] A. 1710. Grant by Peter, the prior, and the convent of Holy Trinity,
London, to Ediva daughter of Walter, of the land in the parish of
St. Dunstan by the Tower of London that Walter Brun held of them,
containing 25J ells by 8^, at a yearly rent of 4*. The land being built on
with houses roofed with tiles to the value of 40*., Ediva or her heirs will
satisfy the convent [for that sum] if they wish to let their fee, unless the
land be wasted accidentally by tire. Witnesses : Gilbert Alderman, Ralph
Steperanc, Ralph Chaloner, and others (named).
Endorsed: "Modo Johannes Cokyrmouth solvit 5*. 8d. pro ten' ij
cartarum."

[1197-1221] Grant of Peter prior and convent to Edeua daughter of Walter of land that Walter Brown (Brunus), mercer, held of them; in length 25i- ells and in width 81 ells; abutments, the land of Robert Hardel and the land of Humphrey Rufus near (iuxta) Ma(nun)lane; leases all that it has in wood and stone; rent 4s. p.a.; Edeua undertook for herself and her heirs to keep houses on the land and the houses roofed at a cost of 40s. if she or they wished to lease the fee 40s. p.a. rent to be paid unless the land had been wasted by fire in which event the payment would not be levied; if the grantee wishes to pledge or sell, the prior and convent to have the preference by a gold bezant; swore fealty; [f. 40v] gersuma 2 marks of silver; witnesses, Gilbert the alderman, Ralph Stepranc, Ralph Chaloner, Reimundus.]]]]]
