371. Confirmation, in pure and perpetual alms, by Matilda de Paris to the church of St Peter of Westminster, and the convent, for the souls of her parents and all her ancestors, of a certain piece of land which she had in London, in St Margaret's parish towards the Thames, with half a stone wall, concerning which wall she caused an assize of the city to be held. The land lies between that which belonged to William Fisher, to the north, and that which belonged to Stephen Blund, mercer, to the south (measurements given), to hold at an annual rent of 6d. ; dislodgement prohibited. Sciant presentes et futuri quod ego Matillis de Paris dedi et concessi et presenti carta mea confirmavi ecclesie Sancti Petri de Westmonasterio et conventui eiusdem ecclesie, pro anima patris et matris mee et omnium antecessorum meorum, quandam partem terre quam habui in London in parochia ecclesie Sancte Margarete versus Pontem London', cum medietate muri lapidei, unde assisam civitatis tradidi ad murum faciendum; que terra jacet inter terram que fuit Willelmi Fisher versus aquilonem, et terram que fuit Stephani Blund mercerij versus austrum, et continet in fronte secus_vicum regis orientali sex ulnas de ulnis ferreis Regis Johannis Anglie; et in profunditate triginta v ulnas de eisdem ulnis; et in capite versus occidentem sex ulnas de eisdem ulnis, scilicet: quicquid ibidem habui in longitudine et latitudine, in lignis et lapibus, et in rebus cuntis, cum omnibus pertinentiis suis integre. Habendum et tenendum ecclesie predicte et eiusdem conventui in pura et perpetua elemosina, libere, quiete, honorifice, bene et in pace, integre, finabiliter. Reddendo inde annuatim michi et heredibus meis pro omni servitio et exactione et rebus cuntis sex denarios infra octabis Pasche. Et sciendum quod ego Matillis vel heredes mei nullatenus poterimus predictam ecclesiam neque conventum de predicta terra dehospitari causa me vel heredes meos vel aliquem alium hominem vel feminam per nos ibidem hospitandi, nec amplius inde exigere vel habere debemus, quam predictos sex denarios per annum termino statuto, et de omnibus servitiis versus capitalem dominum debemus acquietare per predictum servitium. Hanc autem terram predictam integre cum omnibus pertinentiis suis ego Matillis et heredes mei predicte ecclesie et conventui contra omnes homines et feminas finabiliter debemus warantizare per predictum servitium sex denariorum. Et ut hec donatio et concessio rata sit et stabilis, presentis sigilli mei inpressione confirmavi.
