Monday after the Feast of Purification [2 Feb.], 16 Edward I.
[A.D. 1287-8], was read a certain writing whereby Hamo le
Ferrun and Isabella his wife demised to Gilbert de Ufford,
potter, and Alice his wife, their tenement in Bordhawe,2
in the parish of St. Mary de Colecherche, near the tenements of
Martin Hauteyn and John Patrick. To hold for a term of six
years from Easter next at an annual rent of 2Os. In case of
sale the lessees to have the right of pre-emption by 40 sterlinges,
and by 12 sterlinges in case of further lease. The lessees pay the
lessors 6os. in hand. Witnesses, Ralph de Sandwich, Warden
of the City; William de Hereford and Thomas de Stanes,
Sheriffs ; William de Betton, John le Coffrer, Adam le Chaundiler,
Salomon le Cotiler, John Patrick, Geoffrey Patrick, Adam
de St. Alban, junior, Walter Hardi, John Clerk, and others [not
