Description From: Stephen son of Andrew-the-fair ('blundus') of London To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory In £4 10s, arrears for his shop in St Mary Magdalen Milk Street ('melcstrete') parish [London], for which he pays the priory 18s a year. He promises to pay the priory, its messenger or proctor in London, 1 mark each year from 25 Dec 1230 (the year after Henry III's return from Britanny), until the arrears are paid, instalments payable as specified. Right of repossession if payment in arrears. This agreement is not to disinherit his heirs. If he does anything that would enable the priory to repossess the shop, the archdeacon of London can force him to observe the terms of the agreement by ecclesiastical censure, without any plea. Priory's part of indenture. No date. [Date: date for the start of repayments.] Endorsed with description and note of registration in late 13th cent hands and ? in 17th? cent hand.
