Wednesday before the Feast of Annunciation B. Mary
[25 March], the same year, came Walter le Waleys, cordwainer,
to the shop of Hugh Motun, Chamberlain, and acknowledged
himself bound to Peter Custes, merchant of Spain, in 50 for
leather ; the same to be paid, viz., one moiety in good pence
and the other in good halfpence undipped, in the rent (in
reddilu) of the said Walter at St. Ives Fair, and unless, &c. |
