Tuesday before Easter [28 March], 16 Edward I. [A.D. 1288],
came Simon Godard and acknowledged he had received from
William de Bettoyne, Chamberlain of London, the sum of 40$.
in part payment of 6os., arrears of 100; which sum of 40$.
the said William delivered to the said Simon by precept of
Ralph de Sandwych, Warden of the City, with the assent of
Joyce le Akatur, William de Farndon, John de Banquell, and
William le Mazeliner, the City of London being bound to Sir
Edmund, brother of the lord the King, to that amount of
the above sum of 100. |
