Wednesday before the Feast of SS. Simon and Jude [28 Oct.],
17 Edward I. [A.D. 1289], came Robert, son of John de Turri
[or "de la Tour"], before the Aldermen and Chamberlain of
London, and caused a writing" to be read whereby he quitclaimed
to John de Canterbury all his tenements and rents,
within the City and without, for ever. Witnesses, Sir Ralph
de Sandwich, Constable of the Tower and Warden of the City ;
Fulk de St. Edmund and Salomon le Cutiller, then Sheriffs;
William de Hadestock, then Alderman of that Ward ; John de Batquill, Robert de Basing", and others [named]. Dated London, the day and year aforesaid, &c. |
