Saturday in Easter week, 7 Edward I. [A.D. 1279], came
William de Braye and William Poyntel, curriers, to the shop of
Hugh Motun, and acknowledged themselves bound to Matthew,
merchant of Bures, in Spain, in the sum of 8 IGJ. for leather;

the same to be paid, viz., one moiety in good pence and the
other in good halfpence, without clipping, on the octave of
