Patent Roll 1266-72: p28
Exemption for life of William son of Richard, citizen of London,
from all tallages, prises, prests, aids and other exactions and demands
which the king or his bailiffs, buyers or other ministers could exact by
reason of his lands, rents, goods or merchandise in the said city";
and from every kind of ransom unless of his own deed or -will be forfeit
anything, to the king or his for which he should be ransomed, and of
him, with his men and merchandise from all customs within the king's
power by sea or land saving the king's due and ancient prises. |
