Thursday after the Epiphany [6 Jan.], 11 Edward I.
[A.D. 1282-3], William le Brun, of Westminster, came before the
Mayor and other reputable men in the Guildhall, and acknowledged
himself bound to William de Bettoyne in the sum of
32 marks; to be paid within the octave of Easter. In default,
the said William de Bettoyne may hold in fee an annual quitrent
of 4 marks according to the terms of a deed of feoffment made
between them and placed in the hands of John le Meriner.
