Precept to the Sheriffs that they return no " billet " {lilleitum)
sent them by the Steward and Marshal' from Michaelmas,
anno 27, until Sunday next after the Feast of St. Edward, and
promise given to indemnify the said Sheriffs for all amercements
towards the lord the King incurred by reason of their
not returning the same. The above precept was issued on
the morrow of St. Edward's Day, the year aforesaid, in the
presence of John le Blunt, Geoffrey de Norton, Richer de
Refham, Walter de Finginfeud, William de Bettoyne, Thomas
Romeyn, Ralph de Hunylane, William de Leyre, Nicholas
de Farindone, Nicholas Pyckoc, Salomon le Cutteler, John de
Donestapil, and Richard de Gloucestre. |
