208 Grant by William de Stowe, clerk of St Edward's (s), to SBH of one messuage and five shops, formerly of the prior of Kenilworth between a tenement of SBH in the hands of William de Arundel in the N. and that of smi in the hands of William Prest in the S. William de Stowe also grants to SBH one messauge and one shop in Hosier Lane between a tenement of Peter Bed l in the W. and that of SBH in the E. This messuage William de Stowe received from William de Dunstaple and Sarah his wife. The shop he received from Emma, dau. of Adam de Drayton. With this grant William de Stowe founded a chantry in SBH for two chaplains in addition to the six already serving in SBH. The two chaplains must pray for the souls of William, his father Andrew, his mother Alice, his brothers and sisters and for the soul of brother Richard de Eccleshale. If SBH does not nominate the two chaplains when needed, the prior of St Bartholomew must do this and if he fails the bishop of L. Wit.
