1021. [1256-7] Grant by Eustace son of David de Staunford to John prior and convent of 2 marks p.a. of rent which John Sharp used to pay from certain land with houses in the parish of St. Mary de Newchurch; also 22s. 4d. p.a. of rent from the next house in the same parish from which the service due to the lords of the fee, Robert de Agulun and his heirs is 9s. p.a.; also 3s. p.a. of quit rent which the grantor used to receive from all the land and houses formerly of William the Glazier (Vitrius) in Colkeslane ; also all the land with a garden which the grantor had in the parish of St. Olave by the Tower paying thereon 2d. p.a. to the king's socage in the middle of Quadragesima; to hold in free alms; [f. 191v] during the lifetime of the grantor the canons gave him 6 marks of silver p.a. from their chamber (camera); sealed; witnesses, Ralph Hardell, mayor, Richard de Ewell, William Aswy, sheriffs, Matthew Bokerel, alderman, John de Gisors.
