Quitclaim by brother John de Brokele of all his rights in the manor of Lewesham and the land in Estgranewic appertaining therto, which he had of the grant of Gregory de Rokesle and Nicholas de Winchester (de wintonia), wardens of London Bridge, with the consent of ‘sir’ (dominus) Martin, the chaplain, John the clerk and others, for his maintenance, and in return for 50s annual rent; the which manor he has surrendered absolutely to the said wardens, because his rent is in arrears and the is in default with regard to the stock and implements and to the upkeep of the land, with its houses, mill, woods and hedges; saving to the said wardens the arrears of rent due to thme and restitution of the default and damages above mentioned.
