Indenture of lease between William son of William Modekyn and William Jukel, of a shop in Dowgate in All Hallows' the Less par., London, lying between the land of Nicholas Duket and the land of John Peverel, width 3/- ells of king John and 3", and length along the Thames 31 ells, for 8 years after the Easter following the return of Stephen de Langton, archbishop of Canterbury, to England. Rent, 5s. The lessor will repair against wind and rain; if he or his heirs wish to sell or otherwise dispose of the shop within the term, they shall give the lessee i gold bezant.
