Friday next before the Feast of Annunciation B. Mary [25
March], 7 Edward I. [A.D. 1278-9], came Thomas de Derby,
cordwainer, and acknowledged himself bound to Matthew de
Bures, merchant of Spain, in the sum of 7 IOJ. for leather; the
same to be paid, viz., one moiety at the Feast of Pentecost and
the other at Midsummer, to wit 6 in round, undipped pence
and the remainder in good halfpence ; and unless, &c. |
