Saturday after Ash Wednesday [u Feb.], 10 Edward I. +
[A.D. 1281-2], came Gilbert de Colecestre, taverner, and paid quere hoc
William " Varache " the sum of 25^., part of a debt due to
Bernard Remund de " Castro Sarrazin." The said William
proffers the bond of the said Bernard, which bond remains in
the hands of Hugh Motun, the Chamberlain, because he had
not a letter of attorney [which letter had been delivered to
William "Barache " on this condition, viz., that the said William
would restore it if the said Hugh were indemnified by the
aforesaid Gilbert1]. |
