(indenture) Grant by William the chaplain, proctor of the hospital of St Bartholomew, Smethefeld and the brethern of the same place, with the assent of the whole chapter, to Robet fitz(filius) Laurence of Suthwerk’ of certain land in the parish of St Olave, Sutwerk’ next the causeway of Bermundesea towards the W, between the land of the Prioress of Keleburne and the land of Wat(loc) fitz (filius) William, for an annual rent of 12d and of 5d to the chief lords ofthe fee. ‘gersuma’. four shillings. And if the said robert wishes to sell the land thus granted, he shall pay t othe said hospital a gold besant.
