indenture. composition between ralph, abbot of battle, and michael tovy, warden of london bridge with the consent of Ralph Hasury, mayor, and the citizens of London, in which the aforesaid abbot and convent bind themselves to keep and repair the guuter (gutteria) between their land and the land of the bridge; and the warden bings himself and his successors to kepe clean the ditch which runs from the siad gutter to the royal highway, so that the flow of water therein may not be impeded not the cleanliness of the water-supply of the town of suwerke impaired.
