Tuesday the morrow of St. Luke [18 Oct.], u Edward I. FO. 36.
[A.D. 1283], a deed was acknowledged whereby Roger, son
of William, son of Roger de London, demised to Robert de
Rokesle, senior, 10 marks annual quitrent for a term of ten
years in discharge of a debt ; a portion, viz. 6os., of the said
rent being in the parish of All Hallows at le Heywharf, and
issuing from shops, houses, &c., held by William de Rokesle

and Avice, relict of Richard de Rokesle; and 5i marks from
houses, shops, &c., held by Michael de Hatfeud,
"furbur," and Marg-ery his wife, and Robert de Felsham, in Chepe, in the
parish of St. Vedast. Witnesses, Sir Henry le Waleys, Mayor
of London; Jordon Gudschepe and Martin Box, Sheriffs of
London; Gregory de Rokesle, Alderman of Douegate;
William de Farend', Alderman of Neugate ;
