A. 1677. Sale and release by Ralph, son of Robert the Chamberlain, to
William his brother, for 4 marcs, of 7s. yearly rent, of which the canons of
St. Bartholomew pay 4s. for land they hold of him, and the brethren of
the Hospital of St. James 3s. for land that was Walter Niger's in Old
Fish Street (Pisconeria) ; William and his heirs paying yearly towards the
King's lodging (locngium) in London, 2ld. for the above lands, and for
others, the rents from which the said Ralph sold to Alan son of Peter, and
which were held of him by Gilbert Fronchemule, Nicholas Duket, and
others (named). Witnesses : Roger son of Alan, Mayor of London, Alan
son of Peter, Thomas de Haverhill, and others (named). [Henry III.]
