Confirmation by Simon the forester and his wife Emma, daughter of Ralph Sumery, to Joyce the weigher, of all their land in St Laurence's parish towards the Thames, between the cemetery of St Laurence's church towards the south, and the land formerly belonging to the alderman Matthew Blund towards the north (measurements given). Joyce will hold in fee and inheritance, rendering 6d. annually to Simon and Emma, and, on behalf of them and their heirs, 4s. annually to the canons of Holy Trinity [Aldgate], London. Sciant presentes et futuri quod ego Simon forestarius et ego Emma filia Radulphi de Sumeri, uxor predicti Simonis, concessimus et dimisimus et presenti carta nostra confirmavimus Joceo ponderatori totam illam terram quam habuimus in parochia ecclesie Sancti Laurentii versus Tamisiam, inter cimiterium ipsius ecclesie versus austrum et terram que fuit Mathei Blundi aldermanni versus aquilonem. Que etiam terra continet in fronte secus vicum reg[is] orientalem undecim ulnas et dimidiam de ulnis ferreis Regis Johannis Anglie, et in capite occidentali xj ulnas de eisdem ulnis, et in longitudine ex utraque parte viginti et septem ulnas de eisdem ulnis, scilicet: quicquid ibidem habuimus in longitudine et latitudine, in ligno et lapido, et in rebus cum omnibus pertinentiis suis. Habendam et tenendam eidem Joceo et heredibus suis de nobis et heredibus nostris in feodo et hereditate, libere, quiete, honorifice, bene et in pace, integre et finabiliter. Reddendo inde annuatim nobis et heredibus nostris pro omni servitio et exactione et rebus cuntis sex denarios esterlingorum duobus terminis anni, scilicet: infra octabis Pasche tres denarios; infra octo dies [Festi] Sancti Michaelis tres denarios, sine c[avilatione] et miskenninga; et pro nobis et pro heredibus nostris canonicis ecclesie Sancte Trinitatis London' quatuor solidos annuatim duobus terminis anni, scilicet: infra octabis Pasche duos solidos; infra octo dies Festi Sancti Michaelis ij solidos pro omnibus serviciis et omnibus rebus. Et sciendum quod ego predictus Simon et ego prefata Emma uxor predicti Simonis et heredes nostri nullo modo poterimus nec debemus prenominatum Joceum neque heredes suos de predicta terra nec pertinentiis dehospitari, causa nos vel heredes nostros vel aliquem alium hominem vel feminam ibidem hospitandi; nec amplius inde exigere ne[c] habere debemus quam predictos sex denarios per annum terminis statutis. Hanc autem terram predictam integre in longitudine et latitudine et in rebus cuntis cum omnibus pertinentiis suis ego predictus Simon et ego Emma uxor predicti Simonis prenominato Joceo et heredibus suis contra omnes homines et feminas finabiliter debemus warantizare. Pro hac igitur concessione et dimissione et warantia et presentis carte nostre confirmatione, predictus Joceus dedit nobis septem marcas argenti in gersummam.
