To William Hardel. Gontrabreve to cause the king's chamberlains
to have 500 marks out of the money which he has received

at Winchester, to make up the 12,000 marks which are to be
brought to the king in Gascony ; Geoffrey de Bello Campo,
who is to cross over to the king with two other knights, to have
70 marks of the king's gift out of the same money; William
de Wauton to have 20 marks of the king's gift; Ellis de Ekkingham
to have 10 marks of the king's gift; Richard Bauzan to
have 5 marks imprest; Henry de Wengham to have lOOs. of the
king's gift, and 12d. daily for his liveries from the Saturday
before St. Peter's Chair till he goes on board ship for his voyage;
Hugh the king's porter (janitori) and Reynold le Rus (Ruffo)
to have 6 marks of the king's gift, and 8d. each daily for their
liveries from the Tuesday before St. Peter's Chair till their
embarkation; Martin the tailor to have 40s. of the lcing's gift;
and each of the mariners, serjeants, and crossbowmen who are
to come over to the Icing with the treasure to have his livery.
He is also to cause the king's two galleys to be well equipped
(eskippari), and all defects therein made good.
