narrow (strictis ), and o~her things necessary for 9 copes, and for
the ~ork thereo?, 2 beJ.?g of red samite, 2 of diaper, 1 of violet
sarmte, 1 of w~1te sannte and 3 of 3 baudekin cloths of gold (ad
aurum) of the king's own stock, offered at Westminster at divers
times; 6l. lls. for orphreys, wide and narrow and other trimmings
to adorn 2 chasubles, one of violet sami~ and the other of
white, of the king's stock, offered at Westminster at divers times;
l 5l. 4s. lOd. for a whole set of vestments (vestimento integro),
nan~ely, a cope a?d chasuble of red samite with wide orphreys, a
tumc and dalmatic of m urrey ( amoreto), an alb, gloves and embroidered

Provence, and for the gold and work thereon offered at Westminster
; 24s. for 48 ells of green linen placed round the k~g's
bed at Westminster ; 58s. 6d. for green and red sendal for edgmg
a cloth offered at Westminster which earl Richard brought from
the Holy Land, and for work and gold thereon ; 21l. 2s. Sd.
for 6 cloths of gold bordered with sendal and the Icing's arms,
for work and gold thereon, and for joining 5 cloths made out
of 15 cloths of gold received from the wardrobe to hang at

Westminster (ibidem) ; and 13 marks for 3 mitres, one given ~o
the arc11bishop of Embrun one to t he bishop of Riez (Rechensi),
and one to an abbot fr~m beyond seas who came with the
countess of Provence. .
