And then, by election of the said populace, Robert de Lintone and Roger Marshal were made Bailiffs; Sir Richard de Culeworth being also made High Bailiff of the City by the Earl. Then all those who had been, as it were, outlawed from the City in the time of the Earl of Leicester, for breach of the peace of his lordship the King, came into the City and were spontaneously admitted ; and all those who had been imprisoned in Newgate for the cause aforesaid, were set at liberty. |
