Whereas Gregory de Rokesle and Thomas la Forde,late sheriffs of London, caused ao-resi to be made there, in the fforty] eighth year of 28 tarns of wine of the price of 281. found in the hands of Domingo de
Vascoriia, Serjeant of, Emery Siecard; as? forfeited for. the flight which
the said Domingo made from the said city for suspicion of falsification
ol money; and the king afteirwaids- caused allowance to fee made to
the said sheriffs in the farm of the city for the- said wines for which
they said they ought not to answer before the eyre of the justices at
the Tower of London; and whereas by testimony of trustworthy
persons the king heard that the said wines belonged to Emery hwe&td
and not to the said Domingo, whereby the said sheriffs, By order of toe
Mng, paid the said 28Z. to the said Emery; the king commands the
justices next in eyre at the Tower oi Londoa nofc to. charge the said
sheriffs herewith. |
